On July 14-18, the fifth annual Harry Agganis Special Olympics Day and Saugus Special Needs Festival will take place at Saugus High School, and this year, funds raised during the five-day event will go to special needs students who attend the Saugus Public Schools.

Richard Stewart and Joseph Falzone, two former Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) employees have been ordered to pay over half a million dollars in restitution for the theft of more than 2,000 feet of cast-iron “coping” that that they took from the Longfellow Bridge and stored in a DCR facility in Stoneham, Middlesex District.
